SURF MESA - Holding on FT. JOHN ALTO
Release Date: April 16th 2025
LA-Based producer, Surf Mesa, returns with the highly anticipated release of "Holding On" in collaboration with John Alto. The deeply personal and euphoric dance anthem is out now via Breakaway.
Fresh off a string of sold-out shows and on the cusp of reaching a monumental 1 billion streams with his breakout hit "ILY (I Love You Baby)," Surf Mesa continues to solidify his position as a leading force in shaping the future of dance music with his signature melodic house sound.
"Holding On" perfectly encapsulates the emotion and high-energy his fans have come to expect, seamlessly blending hypnotic synths, soaring vocals and infectious grooves that are destined for peak club moments, electrifying festival stages and high-energy workout playlists.
"I'm really excited to be working with Breakaway for a few records this year and even more excited to begin that partnership with 'Holding On,' a favorite of mine with my good friend John Alto,” Surf Mesa shared. “This record has been super close to my heart from the moment we started the demo and is the 3rd or 4th idea John and I made one day in the studio. We knew immediately we had to get it out asap.
John Alto echoed this sentiment, stating, "Linking up with Surf on 'Holding On' just felt right from the start. We wanted to create something that hits you emotionally but still works on the dance floor. His dreamy sound mixed with my bass-heavy energy made this track come together so naturally. Can’t wait for everyone to hear it and feel the vibe we cooked up."
The release comes at an exciting time for Surf Mesa, who is gearing up for a prominent festival run, including appearances at Breakaway Tampa, Breakaway Minnesota and Lost In Dreams. This new track is poised to become a staple on dance floors worldwide throughout the festival season and beyond.
