This past weekend, techno DJ and producer Sara Landry made her epic return to Tennessee with an unforgettable performance at The Caverns. The Caverns is a world-famous underground music venue nestled in the rolling hills of Grundy County, known for its stunning cave formations and immersive concert experience, both above and deep below the surface.
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Sara Landry has quickly become one of the hottest DJs in the techno scene. In 2021, she founded her own imprint and record label, Hekate Records, which focuses on hard techno and emerging talent. Entirely self-taught, she handles every aspect of her craft, from production and sound design to mixing and mastering.
The day-long event took place on October 17th and featured a powerful headlining set from Sara Landry, with support from Jenna Shaw, HHUTER, VTSS, and special guest Sub Focus.
The day kicked off with techno DJ and producer Jenna Shaw, who delivered a thrilling set that set the perfect tone for the night ahead. HHUTER followed, keeping the momentum alive with a Latin-inspired techno set that had the crowd in a total trance. His high-energy stage presence was truly something to experience. As the sun began to set, Polish DJ and producer VTSS took over, bringing her signature blend of industrial and techno that pulsed through the venue with raw intensity.
Next, British DJ and producer Sub Focus took the stage for an hour-long drum and bass set. Known for his high-energy, dancefloor-ready tracks, Sub Focus blends jungle roots with modern electronic textures. His music often features melodies, heavy basslines, and genre-crossing production, making his performance the perfect high-octane lead-in to Sara Landry’s unforgettable closing set.
At 9:30 PM, Sara Landry appeared on stage for a phenomenal hour-and-a-half-long set. The crowd, dressed in signature all-black rave attire, was electric.Throughout her performance, Landry seamlessly transitioned from one hard-hitting track to another, featuring fan favorites like “Heaven,” “Play With Me,” and her latest release, “GIRLBOSS.” The night was a truly immersive, high-energy experience built around deep, driving beats. With precision and control, she built tension and released it with drops that sent waves of energy through the venue.
The stage design was equally impressive, complete with bright LED lights and dazzling pyrotechnics. The show felt communal, almost spiritual, an escape from time and routine where the only thing that mattered was the music and the moment.
Following her headlining set, the party continued underground with an afterparty presented by DEF (Define Everything Future), which lasted into the early morning hours. The afterparty featured two more artists, MADGRRL and Godtripper, and a thrilling closing set from Sara Landry.
As the final beats echoed through The Caverns and the crowd dispersed into the early morning air, the night stood as a testament to the growing strength and unity of the hard techno scene in the U.S., with Sara Landry leading the charge as one of its most dynamic forces. Her ability to connect with the crowd, whether in a massive amphitheater or an intimate underground space, proves why she’s become one of the most talked-about names in electronic music today.
